Propane does a lot of quiet work in a house. It heats the rooms, makes the hot water, runs the range and keeps the generator ready. Our job is to make sure the tank behind all of that never runs empty.
Two ways to get propane
Automatic delivery. We monitor the tank and schedule the fill. Customers on automatic delivery get a tank monitor at no charge. We explain how it works in our post on automatic propane delivery.
Call-in delivery. You watch the gauge and call when you want a fill. This suits people who use propane lightly or like to control the timing themselves.
If you watch your own gauge
Call when the gauge reads about 30 percent. That leaves room for a cold snap and for your town’s route day. Usage climbs fast in January and February, so a tank that lasted for weeks in October can drop much faster in a deep freeze.
What propane costs
Propane is priced per gallon, and the price per gallon drops as the fill gets larger. We post current prices for each fill size on our propane delivery page so you can see the number before you call.
Tanks
We offer ASME tanks in 60, 120, 500 and 1,000 gallon sizes. A small tank is enough for a range or a fireplace. Whole-house heat needs a larger one. Tell us what you run on propane and we will help you pick the size.
