Automatic Fuel Delivery vs. Will-Call: Which Is Right for Your Home?

automatic oil delivery CT

Automatic fuel delivery and will-call are the two ways to get heating oil or propane from us. Every oil and propane customer gets fuel one of two ways. Neither is wrong. They suit different households.

Will-call: you watch the tank

You check the gauge and call when you want a delivery. You decide when and how much, so you can time your order and buy enough to reach a price break. The catch is that it is on you. Miss the gauge during a cold week and you are out of fuel.

Will-call works for people who are home and paying attention, for light users, and for anyone who likes to stay in control of the order.

Automatic fuel delivery: we watch the tank

We estimate your usage from your delivery history and the weather, then put you on the truck before you run low. Propane customers on automatic delivery also get a tank monitor at no charge, so we see the actual level. The fill happens on your town’s regular route day.

Automatic delivery works for homes where the fuel is the main heat, for people who travel in winter, and for anyone who has run out once and does not want to repeat it. It is also included in our Oil Budget Program.

What a run-out actually costs

It is more than a cold night. An oil burner that has run dry may need the fuel line bled before it will restart. A propane system has to be leak-checked before it is relit. Either way you are waiting on a second visit, not just a delivery.

How to choose

A simple test: if your gauge has ever surprised you, go automatic. If you check it every week without thinking about it, will-call will serve you fine.

You can see the delivery days for your town on our areas we serve page. To set up either option, call (203) 265-4328.

If automatic fuel delivery sounds right, call (203) 265-4328 and we will set it up.
